Introducing Subscriber Referrals
My dear readers,
I think we need to talk.
Don’t worry, you’ve done nothing wrong. In fact, you, all of you, are marvellous.
So let me begin with a simple, but honest:

As you may or may not know, a few months ago Substack introduced the option for publications to reward readers who help spread the word.
For paid publications, things are simple: most offer complimentary paid subscriptions to the readers who bring in the most new people.
But for a free publication such as mine, this solution obviously wouldn’t have worked, so I had to get a little creative.
Well, I’m happy to say I’ve devised a way to implement these subscriber referrals to Practice Space.
My dears, if you enjoy this newsletter, it would mean the world to me if you invited friends, family, and other folks you like to subscribe and read with us.
What’s in it for you? With each new referral, you will get closer and closer to unlocking a series of rewards, as per the below instructions.
How to participate
1. Share Practice Space. When you use the referral link below, or the “Share” button on any post, you'll get credit for any new subscribers. Simply send the link in a text, email, or share it on social media with friends.
2. Earn benefits. When the people you love use your referral link to subscribe to Practice Space, you’ll receive the following rewards:
3 referrals - A thank-you note from me, delivered to your inbox
5 referrals - A special mention in the next issue
10 referrals - A micro-essay (250 words) on the topic of your choosing (!)
3. Check out the leaderboard to see how close you are to unlocking your next reward:
Give the gift of Practice Space, and be rewarded. That’s the gist of it.

Even though I’m planning on paywalling just one of my sections, the Deep Dive section of my newsletter, I’ve also been trying to think of ways to reward both free and future paid subscribers who may share the newsletter. These are great ideas, though!
